That is so cool! Someone was posting the other day alluding to this other realm, sometimes nature, but often this spiritual other world. Be it dreams, visits, God has no limits communicating!!

When my dad passed, it was a stress filled season, in school for a career change. I was just sitting at my desk in our apt and I felt this peace about him in the moment. He passed shortly after that.

That dream or experience you had in London, and that beautiful glowing room. We think we're alone and vulnerable, and we are--but He always shows up. Thank you Hannah!

He DOES always show up! Sometimes I can be so aloof that I miss it in the moment, but looking back, it's obvious. He's there. Thank you for sharing that experience about your dad. What thing to feel going into what I'm sure was such a difficult time. And I love the bit about God having no limits in communicating. Absolutely.

Hi Ron, I'm so glad you had this peace filled +/- premonition. I have never had one, though I had a run of extremely unlikely encounters where they each defied any explanation. The net result was awe and a clear sense of being here for some purpose that only God knows. I've grown to think of God as "Divine mystery" though for fifty years I had a more traditional personified view. One thing I have to continually remind myself of is - "Judgement is mine sayeth the Lord."

Divine mystery surely checks alot of boxes. Sometimes, almost serendipitously, you may be having a conversation that moves into the 'off the rails' mode. An encounter or metaphysical or spiritual experience is unpackaged that leave both--wondering. It is a mystery. I believe and am also theological about it, but it often is so beyond our pay grade to comprehend! Working in your capacity, these things I know cross your path. It's cool stuff! Yes, the judgement thing, I really try to leave alone! It's not our energy to handle. Always enjoy your comments, Mark.

Thanks Ron, and vice versa regarding your writing / comments as well. It's wonderful to get to "know" some of the writers here on Substack - going beneath the garden variety day-to-day chit chat.

Regarding your comment about the "off the rails" conversations, on the positive side, sometimes I leave conversations with some serious head scratching combined with a refreshing sense of gratitude - "I'm not sure what just happened but thank you God."

You alluded to theological questions - "so beyond our pay grade to comprehend!" - I remember when I was a Presbyterian lay preacher / pulpit supply guy back in the late 1900's and early 2000's realizing exactly that - "I need to stop asking so many "WHY?" questions of God. I still today have lots of questions but very few begin with - Why would you . . . ?

Wonderful writing and 'm so glad you had such - "visits." For those who have never had such surreal experiences, it's easy to discount them. My blog is "Us AND Them" and it's about recognizing how much we are connected to each other in so many ways. The separateness in my opinion is much more human generated than God generated. And in my opinion, you describe a connection with the divine.

You describe the encounter as ". . . a force field, it brought with it an improbable peace." I've had improbable protection - a couple times and my wife and I have no explanation other than -divine intervention and protection by "angels" works just fine.

Mark, I'm so grateful for your comment and I apologize for my slowness to respond. We've had a stomach bug and a tonsillectomy at our house this week, so my substack time has been quite limited!

I can't wait to check out your page. I love that you write about this very subject, and I agree about the separation being human generated! It makes me a bit sad to imagine how many interactions I haven't noticed, moments of "improbable protection" gone unseen because I was too distracted or self absorbed to see them. I'm working on that awareness!

Sorry for the rough times that you've been dealing with, I hope everybody's back to health in the near future. Blessings tend to go under the radar, it's the challenges which can take us down - literally or figuratively which therefore get most of our attention. Raising our awareness coupled with gratitude makes for happier and better adjusted campers.

Oh, Hannah. What a beautiful share, I'm so grateful to you. I love knowing that we would have been in the same city at the same time. And that you had the honour of your guardians visiting and blessing you when your heart needed it most. I just loved the forward to Henry's Battalion, I found it so deeply moving. There are some phrases that always reduce me to tears, the reminder of a constant and loving God always being one. I am so looking forward to reading more. And so happy that you're back and publishing 💜

I'm so grateful that you take the time to read my posts!! And I am glad to be publishing, too. Though I may have said, in a moment of despair, "To hell with writing!!!" to my very patient husband yesterday. Do you ever feel like whenever you try to do something worthwhile, the opposition suddenly gets harder? Like if you'd just sit down and be quiet, it'd leave you alone? I feel that. Especially when I work on Henry's Battalion. So, I guess we'll see how far I get 🥴
