Isn't she just lovely? I have this picture of me and her tucked in the frame of a cross-stitch she gave me for Christmas one year when I was a teenager. It has the scripture 2 Timothy 1:7 ("For God hath not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind) surrounded by little patchwork squares. Not something I appreciated then but something I lean on almost daily now. I need to revisit Philip Pullman! It's been ages since I read his books. If/when I print this again, I'll gladly send you a copy, and am blushing a little that you'd want one 😂 💚

Such a battle you wrote, Hannah! Have you ever heard of Frank Peretti? He wrote about the spiritual world in terms like this. 'This Present Darkness' may have been his first novel. Supplication, moment by moment in battle-you rarely hear these themes.
What a tender experience, your mum detailing your entry in this realm, complete with snow and wonder. Wisely she spoke the dangers and preparations needed for this life. I think she knew she was training a warrior. Thank you for sharing this tender and tumult!
